First Aid

Over the years, I received First Aid Training on a few different occasions. The first time I completed a course was for the Standard First Aid and CPR-C with St. John’s Ambulance. Following that, I also received First Aid for Industry and my Community Care First Aid with St. John’s Ambulance for my employment with the YMCA. Although I haven’t had to perform First Aid often, I did have an incident with a student while on a horseback riding field trip. Although I was nervous, I was able to remain calm and provide some minor first aid to a student who had some road burn and muscle pain. I think it’s important for everyone to receive First Aid training, regardless of your job, because you never know when or where an incident may happen.
