In June 2016, I graduated from the Administrative Assistant Program at Okanagan College in Kelowna, B.C. The program was a fantastic experience and helped me develop personally and professionally. The majority of the course work covered in the program included professional practices and business organization, and are skills that helped me obtain my first full-time job. I did very well in the program and was able to start working two weeks after graduating. I’m very glad I took this program, as the skills I learned from it are ones that will be utilized in many personal and professional situations during my lifetime.
One component of the Administrative Assistant program was developing high net words per minute for typing. This was something I picked up rather quickly, and is something that benefits me on a regular basis for school and work purposes.
